Food Forests Ireland CLG
About
Food Forests Ireland (FFI) is an environmental, educational, and training organisation based in Westport, County Mayo. FFI works with schools, community groups, and local authorities to plant and nurture "food forests" - self-sustaining, layered ecosystems designed to produce food while restoring local biodiversity. FFI aims to reduce Ireland's dependence on imported food and fossil fuels by teaching communities to grow their own perennial crops in public spaces. We offer curriculum-linked programs for primary schools and bespoke training for adults and community groups, focusing on system-thinking and climate adaptation.
