Help us harness the power of photography to showcase a national love for Ireland’s wildlife and habitats
Competition Rules
The competition is free to enter and is open to photographers: amateurs and advanced at all skill levels aged 16 or over
The photo competition is for native species and habitats only. Cork Nature Network may permit non-native wild species in Ireland at their discretion.
All photographs must be taken in Ireland.
Monthly entries are open from 8th of each month and will close last day of each month at midnight
Monthly winners (Amateur and Advanced Photographers) will be showcased and open for voting on social media channels, in particular Facebook and Instagram
The winner of each category will be advised by email and the winning photograph will be showcased on Cork Nature Network’s website and media channels
Participants may submit more than one entry per month and a max of two photographs per competition entry.
Photographic images should be submitted in JPEG, HEIF, PNG, DNG formats
Please add a caption for your photo and provide the species name
Images can be taken on any device capable of capturing a digital image of sufficient quality for entry. This includes images captured on smartphones, tablets and other digital devices.
All imagery MUST be the exclusive work of the submitting photographer and must not include any element that is the copyright of another person
By submitting a photograph you give your consent for Cork Nature Network to use your photograph in the competition, website and other promotional materials. Your name will be aligned and credited when your photograph is used. Photographs may be used for the annual calendar but if you wish to opt out please indicate with the text for your entry.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win
Cork Nature Network reserves the right, at its discretion, to disregard any entry that does not comply with the rules or the spirit of its competition

As per national and EU law, disturbing or photographing wild nesting birds on or near their breeding place requires a licence from the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). If your submission includes photographs of nesting birds, please provide evidence of this licence along with your entry.
